Two Rentals at the Swift Lofts!!
The Swift Lofts located at 950 Dorchester Avenue in the Savin Hill neighborhood of Dorchester is a boutique Dorchester Loft building compromised of 13 residential units and a few commercial Lofts as well. The original structure was built in 1899 and in 1926, Robert Wesselhoeft Swift brought his small import company to the building and called it Swift & Anderson Inc. This family owned company was the first to import roof prism binoculars’ from Hensolt Germany. Throughout the twentieth-Century the Company expanded to become one of the leading trade companies of fine optical products in the United States, now know as Swift Instruments. It’s international headquarters is in Boston and today remains a family owned business.
In 2006 the building was converted into 13 Loft Condos and was named the “Swift Lofts“. The original brick building with its massive windows, exposed beams and vast open space made it a natural fit to convert into lofts and make a great addition to the Savin Hill Dorchester neighborhood. It’s convenient location just steps from the “JFK/Umass” Red Line station make an easy commute into Boston & Cambridge.
Currently we have 2 units for rent at the Swift Lofts
