Boston Population Expected To Rise 400k

by Shuki Haiminis on June 4, 2009

The Boston Business Journal ran a story the other day on population projections for the nations top 250 metro areas. In it they say that Boston is expected to add 400,000 more residents by 2025.

Boston will have added roughly 400,000 residents in the 20-year span ended 2025, with a total population topping 4.84 million people. That should be good enough to rank the city as the country’s 12th-largest, based on bizjournals’ projections. As of 2005, Boston was ranked as the 10th largest city in the United States.

What does that mean for Real Estate in the hub?

While the Real Estate market has been hit in recent months, this data shows that in the long run housing will be needed and the demand will continue to rise.
